Using 3D Studio MAX, an attempt at making a 'pair of pears' XD
This was achieved by first creating a sphere, soft-selecting it, allowing me to alter the form of it. Originally I had decided to create a lemon, but, almost fortunately, I managed to create a pair instead - definately an opportunity to create a wordage-joke with pair/pear(!)
Once I had the form I was after, I added the stalk by creating a cone, adjusting the angle to about 50 degrees, and then placing it on top of the pear.
I then cloned both the pear and stalk, rotated the original pear, and added some dynamic lighting to create realism in this virtual environment
After that, I added a surface for them to sit on, again to increase the realism, and then rendered to the point where it looks almost plausable(!) GIMP was used to export the image onto here, saved as a Bitmap BMP file 24bit
As a first attempt., I sure its only the start of a long and ardious journey with another piece of high-tech software...

Very nice but what happened with the shadow at the side?
Pears are tasty. Yum yum. I like eating them. Them's juicy and yummy
