2nd Week - Now It Gets Serious...

*Fast Show reference #1 of many.. - "This week, I'll be mostly eating pasties"*

From here on in I'm gonna start to concentrate on some serious aspects of my coursework (and perhaps some not so serious!)

Below are the 3 months that will be included in my annual-3D Studio Max-calender thingy, each one showing the event I will focusing on and its respective moody-board

February - Valentines Day (how soppy and pretentious I know!)
Tbh, the only reason I chose this was to pretend that Valentines Day wasn't just some massive public holiday that alienates the singletons and preys on the wallets of the couples supposedly needing to spend all their hard-earned of humongous teddy bears and oversized boxes of chocolates...honest(!)

Ideas for 'Maxed' Final Image (in order of probability) - Love Heart & Arrow, Bunch of Red Roses, Box of Chocolate, Kisses or Cupid

------------------------------------------------

March - St. Patrick's Day (a round of Guinness for everyone!)
I, with no real intentions of seeming Irish at all, decided to try an event that isn't possible as well celebrated as it should be, within the form of a 'Maxed' digitised image. Although, saying that, I might check my family history for any trace of Irish in me...

Ideas for 'Maxed' Final Image (in order of probability) - Pot of Gold & a Rainbow, Pint of Guinness, Irish Flag, Four-Leaf Clover or a wee Leprechaun

------------------------------------------------

October - All Hallows Eve (Halloween to you and me!)
The dreaded time of the year for many an individual holed up in their home, ignoring the door all evening on October 31st. In all honesty, having never really trick or treated very much as a kid (its too cold to wander the streets for a handful of hard toffees and sherbet in my view), Ill be doing this as an exercise of my imagination to create some monstrosity that's bound to be recognised as having some resemblance to a Halloween-esq object

Ideas for 'Maxed' Final Image (in order of probability) - Scary Pumpkin (with candle inside), Bats, Trick or Treat Bags, Ghost or a Skeleton

Hopefully, this shouldn't be too much hassle...

The 1st Week of a Long Semester

Using 3D Studio MAX, an attempt at making a 'pair of pears' XD

This was achieved by first creating a sphere, soft-selecting it, allowing me to alter the form of it. Originally I had decided to create a lemon, but, almost fortunately, I managed to create a pair instead - definately an opportunity to create a wordage-joke with pair/pear(!)

Once I had the form I was after, I added the stalk by creating a cone, adjusting the angle to about 50 degrees, and then placing it on top of the pear.

I then cloned both the pear and stalk, rotated the original pear, and added some dynamic lighting to create realism in this virtual environment

After that, I added a surface for them to sit on, again to increase the realism, and then rendered to the point where it looks almost plausable(!) GIMP was used to export the image onto here, saved as a Bitmap BMP file 24bit

As a first attempt., I sure its only the start of a long and ardious journey with another piece of high-tech software...
